Our story We are three founders: technology, administration and hands-on work with businesses. Encuentras started with an everyday frustration in Guadalajara, and the service we run today came out of it. See how we work ## It all started with something as simple as looking for a place to eat. Guadalajara, December 2020 When Dave moved to a neighborhood near Chapultepec, he was struck by how many restaurants, stands and street food there were around him. He was just as struck by how hard it could be to find basic information: where they were, when they opened and what they actually sold. One day he went back for tacos at a stand he liked and found it closed, with no simple way to know why or when it would return. It was not a great technological problem. It was a small everyday frustration repeating itself across the city. Dave had run a restaurant in Quebec in 2016 and knew the other side of that situation: a business can do excellent work and still lose opportunities because its information is not available when the customer needs it. The idea for Encuentras came from that connection. If the solution could be built quickly, clearly and affordably, even the smallest businesses could have a place of their own to be found. That is also where the name came from. ## What Encuentras is today. Encuentras designs and manages websites for a monthly fee. You take care of the business; we take care of the server, the security and the maintenance. We started by developing a specialized solution for restaurants and cafés, the same sector that inspired the idea. At the same time, we work with auto shops, health and wellness businesses, studios, gyms and professional services that face the same need to be found and understood. ## Three founders, and who does what. The people behind it ### Dave Vermette Technology and product Dave has been programming since he was young, started a restaurant business in 2016 and has been building professional platforms since 2020. He leads the technology, the product and the way Encuentras turns real business needs into tools that are simple to use. ### Alejandra Tolosa Administration A biologist by training, Alejandra runs administration at Encuentras. She organizes the operation, the follow-up and the processes needed to turn the promise made to each business into a consistent service. ### Saúl Tolosa Sales and business relationships Saúl leads the commercial work and the visits to businesses. His experience training people and collaborating with social initiatives shows in a close, patient and practical way of understanding each client. ## Professional experience applied to local businesses. The technology behind Encuentras did not start with this project. The team draws on years of experience building and operating professional software, plus direct experience in restaurants, administration, training and field work. We apply practices used on larger-scale platforms (clarity, stability, security and continuous improvement) to a service a small business can also afford. ## How do we work?
